Hey everyone,
This month Calido is taking the big plunge and advertising for the first time in the FIAA magazine, be sure to read your copy to finally see the software getting out and about :)
Development has started on the seamless MYOB integration and also the PDA data entry (dispatch warehouse locations) - it looks like it will be heads down, bums up for the next couple of months...

The hype of the moment - Windows XP Service Pack 2.
If you haven't already started downloading this file, you can either go to Windows Update, or to the single user download page.
If you have multiple computers on your network and need to install the update on all machines, I recommend using their IT Professionals version. This file has all of the security updates required to install SP2 on any XP machine - as such it is rather large (>200 MB)
A word of warning though, I installed SP2 on my personal machine (which took about 10 minutes) and killed the machine after its preferred re-boot. After spending 20 minutes looking for a solution, I then managed to roll back the installation (taking another 10 minutes) which luckily left my machine back to square one.
During my research, I found an article by PCWorld.com which claims that SP2 caused 15% of competent technology professionals to have severe problems thereby preventing the machines from being used - about half of which had to rebuild the system from scratch (based on information from the SANS Institute).
I would assume for a fairly simple installation, without too much glossy hardware, you shouldn't have a problem. For me, I will wait a while longer and see what pans out...

Google has a service whereby you can pay "per click" on your advertisement. The advert is configured by keywords that people type into their search engine, and based on your daily budget/maximum price you want to pay per click, your ad will appear on the right hand side of the screen.
This is a great way to attract new business to your website - even if only paying 9 cents per click, and a daily budget of $1, you will at least be getting people who are interested in your product/service.
Please be aware, there is a AU$10 account activation charge to kick off your advertising campaign.

 Calido is honoured to welcome SlumberCare, WA as our latest subscriber to our production management software Comet.
We have been working with SlumberCare for several months to customise the reporting features and ensure a smooth transition into the new production software.
This installation involves two computers on the factory floor (one 802.11g wireless) to print product labels, and then scan the labels to report the jobs completion.
We are very excited to be working with SlumberCare on the development of product/lot tracking for dispatch.
